ANZAC Day services got underway across the Coast yesterday with hundreds attending Dawn Services to mark the occasion.
It was a fresh start to the morning but those gathered remembered the valour, courage, resourcefulness, fidelity, comradeship and endurance that was and is the Anzac spirit.
Latrobe RSL president Ray Simpson addressed those gathered at the Latrobe Cenotaph this morning and said we must never let go of Anzac Day.
”This day is a day about remembrance, deference and thankfulness,” he said.
Not only do we remember the Australians and New Zealanders lost at Gallipoli on this day, but Anzac Day is a day for remembrance of all those men and women, the thousands of military personnel who have served and those who are currently serving.
